Faith Journey Bible Studies are transforming communities through creating authentic groups centered on learning how to understand and apply the Bible. Our hope is that you will grow closer to the God of the universe and discover His love for you as you invest time studying His word within a group of women committed to you and to the Lord. We believe that God revealed Himself to all people groups through the life, death and resurrection of His son, Jesus Christ. We long to share the joy we have personally experienced as we struggle to live a life that ultimately points to God’s supernatural, inclusive, purpose-giving Kingdom! Loving Our Community
“And I keep praying that this faith we hold in common keeps showing up in the good things we do, and that people recognize Christ in all of it.” ~ Philemon 1:6 The Message One of the ways that our Faith Journey groups have grown together is through serving our communities. When she started her first group, Lisa was surprised by how little women had been exposed to or experienced the blessing of serving people in need. Luke 12:48 says, “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” As we take stock of everything we have, we believe we are blessed to bless others. In addition to material resources, many women also have the gift of time. Each Faith Journey group serves in different ways and the FJ Team of leaders includes those women who help to coordinate and encourage women from all groups to get connected with their community needs. Serving together in the Sacramento region can look like offering lunch at Loaves and Fishes downtown, teaching adult life skills at Power House ministries in Folsom, collecting baby items for teen girls who was pregnant and alone, providing tutoring and friendship to kids with Folsom’s Hope, or bringing breakfast items to Wellspring which provides a safe haven for abused women! Faith Journey women growing in their understanding of what it means to live the truths they study! We are going into the crowds: the down and out, the widows, the drug addicts, the prostitutes, the incarcerated, the homeless and jobless… and learning to love people the ways Jesus loves...

This discipline- as difficult as it can be to prioritize- has completely transformed personal lives, relationships, families, cities, organizations and nations for thousands of years. Why? Because it is the Word of God. Even before the Bible was printed, God communicated His word to humanity by directly speaking to and through leaders of His people, the Israelites. Do you want to grow in your relationship with God? Or, do you want to learn about Him for the first time? We encourage you to open up a contemporary translation of the Bible, ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand and then…do what it says! We pray that you will be drawn near to the God of the universe as you begin understanding His heart for you and for our world!

One of the greatest ways we can be used by God is in sharing our faith story with others. The focus on these stories is not really about us, but about the ONE who is working through us. When we are transparent to share our faith story with others, we give a reason for the hope we have regardless of tough circumstances and we show again that God is at work in the lives of the everyday woman, not just in the “special woman” we have come to admire. Blessings on you as you continue to allow the Father to write your story and bring Him glory!
